Special Needs Planning Committee

This office is proud to announce the appointment of its principal, Antony Eminowicz, as Co-Vice Chair in the Special Needs Planning Committee of the New York State Bar Association.

Antony Eminowicz will be present at the Summer Meeting of the Elder Law and Special Needs Section in Newport, Rhode Island where recent developments in the areas of Elder Law, Estate Tax, Guardianship and Medicaid will be discussed.

The Special Needs Planning Committee at the Summer Meeting will be paying close attention to:

  • The proposed updates to Article 17A of the Surrogate’s Court Procedure; and
  • The impending clarification of the Social Security Administration with respect to an individual’s ability to petition the court for their own first party special needs trust.

Further developments in these areas will be discussed in future News and Events articles. Watch this space!

I feel that every client deserves courageous and compassionate representation. This goes far beyond even the best law school education or practice in the most prestigious firms, but must be based in one's own experience and ethics, and practiced on a deep-rooted, personal level.
